Marquette University Student Government is seeking energetic students interested in graphic design, web design and maintenance, videography, photography, public relations writing or social media to serve as members of the 2016-17 Communications Department. The Communications Department is made up of three teams:
The design team is responsible for creating visual art, design and branding for all MUSG programs and initiatives. Team members will be expected to use Adobe Creative Cloud programs. The design director is expected to be a resource for assistants, and is proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
The public relations team is responsible for all communication efforts of the organization. Team members write press releases, newsletters, social media posts, and blog posts. The public relations director is responsible for proofreading all internal and external communication documents while retaining knowledge of essentials such as AP style.
The multimedia team is responsible for maintaining the MUSG website as well as photography and videography projects. Multimedia assistants are not expected to be experienced in all aforementioned areas and may be hired specifically for photography, video or web. The director will supervise all areas of multimedia and assist in website maintenance.
Directors are expected to devote ten hours a week to the role and are given a stipend dictated by the upcoming annual budget process. Assistant positions are volunteer; the expected commitment is five hours per week.
