MUSG 2015-16 Speaker Series continues with The Empowerment Plan’s Veronika Scott

Marquette University Student Government is excited to announce Veronika Scott as speaker on Marquette’s campus as a part of its 2015-16 Speaker Series. Scott will speak in the Lunda Room on Tuesday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m.

Veronika Scott is the founder and CEO of The Empowerment Plan, a Detroit-based non-profit organization that is centralized around helping the homeless to build a better community. The organization focuses on hiring homeless women to manufacture specialty coats that can transform into a sleeping bag to help those on the street.

The project started as a simple school assignment but has blossomed into thriving business. The Empowerment Plan not only helps to give homeless individuals a coat but also helps to create jobs and form a remarkable industry with means to help this growing population.

All students are invited to attend this free MUSG Speaker Series.
