Marquette University Student Government is excited to announce it will be offering free movies for all Marquette students and guests this year at the Varsity Theater. Although MUSG has provided movies to students in the past, this will be the first year that all movies are free. There will also be a free soda for the first 100 students at each Friday showing.
Guests of all Marquette students, including family, friends and co-workers, are also able to get into each movie for free when accompanied by a student with an MUID.
To begin the semester, MUSG will show The Fault in Our Stars this Thursday, Sept. 4 outside in the Central Mall. This will replace the #MUMania week outdoor movie, which was cancelled due to inclement weather. The movie will start at 9 p.m. and students are welcome to free popcorn. You don’t want to miss a night under the stars watching one of this summer’s most talked about movies.
Along with The Fault in our Stars, MUSG will show a large selection of movies at the Varsity Theater this semester. The Fall 2014 semester schedule is as followed:
- Sept. 5 & 6: Maleficent
- Sept. 26 & 27: Divergent
- Oct. 3: Million Dollar Arm
- Oct. 24 & 25: The Amazing Spider-Man 2
- Oct. 31 & November 1: Halloweentown
- Nov. 7 & 8: Tammy
- Nov. 21 & 22: If I Stay
- Dec.5 & 6: Elf
All movies will be shown at 8 p.m. on Fridays and 8 and 10:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Visit musg.mu.edu/films for more information about upcoming films.
