MU Unplugged begins 2014 with MxMU series

MU Unplugged, Marquette University Student Government’s coffee house concert series continues in 2014 with a three-part music festival – MxMU. Featuring great bands and Marquette’s own student talent, MxMU kicks off at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6 and continues on Feb. 13 and 20 in the first floor lobby of the Alumni Memorial Union. Image

The three-week long music festival begins with indie rock group Marrow on Feb. 6. The newly formed four-part group just released their EP “Two” in December. Hailing from Chicago, Marrow lists Grizzly Bear, Thundercat and Deerhoof as major influences. Fans can look forward to their first full-length album set to release this year.

Excitement continues when MxMU returns on Feb. 13 featuring Fever Fever, an alternative rock band from central Ohio. Also a four-part group, Fever Fever prides themselves on bringing lots of energy to its live shows, bringing the music to life.

MUSG closes out MxMU on Feb. 20, with musical performances and spoken word poetry from students.

At all three sessions of MxMU, students can look forward to coffee, cookies and Marquette lemonade. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience musical talent from both inside and outside Marquette.

The events are free and open to all Marquette students, no tickets required.
