MILWAUKEE (February 17, 2013) – Marquette University Student Government and Late Night Marquette will host “We’ve Got Game”, an event featuring four hit game shows, on Friday, March 1 at 9 p.m. in the Weasler Auditorium. Game shows Minute to Win It, The Price Is Right, The Not So Newlywed and Scene It will be featured. Minute to Win It takes the phrase “just a minute” to a whole new level. Contestants have 60 seconds to complete outrageous tasks like moving 20 ping-pong balls into 20 pint glasses in consecutive order with one bounce per ball or, as the creators of the show have dubbed it, Bouncer. Everyone has seen The Price Is Right, yet they still seem to struggle picking that elusive price tag, and The Not So Newlywed game puts even the strongest of relationships through uproarious tests. Finally, Scene It tests audience knowledge of classic cinematic moments.
All of these are timeless shows likely seen by most, but now is the chance to see them from the other side.
The timelessness of each show stems not only from their premise, but also from their charismatic hosts. Guy Fieri, Bob Barker and Bob Eubanks are all legendary, but MUSG and Late Night bring an equally enthralling act to the Weasler stage: Comedy Sportz. As Milwaukee natives, Comedy Sportz performs their hilarious improv shows throughout the area, including their own comedy club. Marquette student comedians will also add some jest to the games as they help Comedy Sportz to host
Of course, these talented individuals will need game show contestants to host. Students interested in participating in the games can sign up at tables in the AMU in the days leading up to the event.
The event is free, no ticket required, and open to all Marquette students. Don’t miss this opportunity to be the live studio audience or the contestants in renditions of America’s favorite game shows.
