MILWAUKEE – November 27, 2011- MUSG has two applications now available for the 2012-2013 school year. The applications are for two different executive positions, Program Board Vice President and Communications Vice President. The following job descriptions provide further details: The Program Board Vice President (PVP) position provides practical career experience in event planning and management. It is great for those who thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The PVP is responsible for supervising 16 event commissioners as well as managing a substantial budget. The PVP is a part of the MUSG executive board and works closely with the MUSG president and other executive members to assist in making organizational decisions.
Current Program Board Vice President, Derek Merten, says, “If you are interested in coordinating campus programs such as MUSG Night of Chocolate, Farmer’s Market, major speakers and more, you should apply to be the MUSG Program Vice President!”
The position provides a great opportunity to anyone who is looking to expand his or her involvement on campus and acquire applicable business experience. The Communications Vice President (CVP) position provides practical experience for those in pursuit of a career in the communications field. The MUSG Communications Vice President is responsible for overseeing all publication, advertising, web and social media from within the organization. The CVP manages a department that consists of three divisions: public relations, graphic design and multi media. The CVP is also a member of the MUSG executive board and works closely with the MUSG president and other executive members to assist in making organizational decisions.
Current Communications Vice President, Arica Van Boxtel, says, “This position is a great opportunity to apply all the concepts you learn in class towards real-life experience. I would not trade the experience I have acquired for anything different.”
